Worship

We hold acts of worship (often called services)

  • at a variety of times – not just Sundays
  • in a variety styles
  • in two areas of Bishopstoke (at St Mary’s and St Paul’s)

to suit a variety of people.

But whatever the style and feel of the worship, the aim is always the same – an encounter with God. As we praise God, pray and think about a passage from the Bible, we hope to become more aware of him, hear things that are relevant for our lives, and be transformed by his love and power. It doesn’t matter which service you come to; the main thing is that you feel comfortable and able to meet with God.

Larger services

Our larger services are the ones on a Sunday morning at 9.15 am and 10.45 am. Here you can expect to see quite a number of people, sing hymns/songs together and get to know others afterwards over refreshments. Click here to see the Services Calendar for more details. The 10.45 am service at St Mary’s each week is the ideal one for children to attend; once a month they stay in church for the whole service and on other weeks they can go to Trailblazers.

Quieter services

These are attended by smaller numbers of people and sometimes include more space to reflect. They are:

Morning Prayer

A small number of people meet to read the daily Bible readings and pray on three mornings each week at 8.45 am. This lasts about half an hour.
